The Ghana Police Service has arrested an officer who allegedly shot and killed a young woman in Adum, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

In a press release, the police indicated that “the suspect, who has been on the run since the incident, was arrested at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti region as a result of a special police operation, which was launched following the shooting incident.”

“The suspect is currently in police custody and will be put before the court to face justice,” they noted.

Inspector Twumasi’s arrest came after a CCTV footage where he was seen having a conversation with the victim shortly before allegedly shooting her went viral.

Victoria Dapaah is said to have left her home after receiving a phone call from the suspected assailant.

SpyNews sources say an argument ensued between the assailant and the victim after which she was shot five times.

In an interview days later, the uncle of the victim identified as Maa Adwoa said the couple had some disagreements over cheating allegations prior to the murder.
