The Finnish Police has arrested Biafra Separatist Leader, Simon Ekpa over his threats of no elections in Nigeria.

Ekpa has threatened that any person in the South-Eastern Part of the Nigeria that tries to participate or vote in the 2023 General Elections scheduled to hold on Saturday Feb. 25th will be ruthlessly dealt with.

The Seperatist leader has been fingered as being the arrowhead of several killing by ‘Unknown Gunmen’, a dangerous armed militia responsible for the deaths of several people and even public officials in the South-East.

Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), rose to prominence in July 2021 after he was announced as the lead broadcaster of Radio Biafra.

The Finland-based activist was appointed to replace Kanu following the re-arrest of the IPOB leader by the federal government. After some weeks, IPOB announced Ekpa’s disengagement, citing his refusal to sign the rules of engagement of Radio Biafra.

How he was arrested

Ekpa was picked up from his Apartment in Lahti region of Finland by officers from the Finnish Central Criminal Police on Thursday morning.

Reacting to the arrest Emeka Chinyeres said “The coward should face trial in Nigeria” and described Simon Ekpa as an “Abakaliki bigot”

Oladipupo Johnson described Ekpa as a useless fool adding that the arrest was good for him.

A Nigerian who simply identified himself as Umolu said, “I don’t subscribe to violence but something should be done about our country by way of a referendum. Ekpa has a point except that the violence part of his campaign is wrong. We can’t continue to live a fake federation. We need to redesign the country into regions where each region will live by its means like in the US where we copied this system from. Also, unique to our country, the Presidency should rotate like in Switzerland.

Prince Nwosu in his comment said “It’s part of the game and Mazi Simon Ekpa knows that. He was warned by the Finish government. Now he will face the music. His arrest is the only way Peter Obi can rule in peace, if not, how can a Biafran crying marginalization when a Biafran is the President of Nigeria. Let’s give Nigeria a chance to survive.
