Counseling Association of Nigeria ( CASSON ) Delta State chapter has been lauded for its outstanding performance in Nigeria.
This was contained in the address of the National President of CASSON, Professor Mallami Umar Tambawa at the annual general conference of Delta State chapter of the association at Delta State University, Abraka on Tuesday 28th March, 2023 .
In his address, Professor Mallami Umar Tambawa stated that Delta State won the most outstanding chapter award of the association in Nigeria for the past two consecutive years.
He also hailed the Delta State chapter of CASSON for producing some of the best counselors in Nigeria.
” This is a testimony of Delta State upholding the ideals of the most prominent professional association of counsellors in Nigeria known as Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) he added .
The address was delivered on behalf the Sokoto born National President of CASSON by the immediate past Chairman of Delta State chairman of the association , Dr Moses C Ossai .
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University Abraka, Professor Andy Ogochukwu Egwuyenga , represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration of university, Professor ( Mrs ) Rosemary Okoh and other distinguished members of the association who spoke were also full of praises for the Delta State chapter of the association for its outstanding performance in counseling activities in Nigeria.
Earlier in her welcome address, the chairman of the association in Delta State,Dr ( Mrs ) Edna Abibetu Abbide charged members to improve on their performance in order to win the trophy of the most outstanding chapter of CASSON in Nigeria for the third consecutive time.
The College of Education Warri don noted that the theme of the conference : ‘ Counseling for Value and Moral Re- orientation towards sustainable national development ‘ was timely in the present day Nigeria .
The theme of the conference was eruditely treated by renowned resource personality in counseling, Professor Richard Okorodudu among others.
The epoc making event featured presentation of awards/donations, introduction of counselling book among others.
The Chairman of the association in Delta State Dr (Mrs) Edna Abibetu Abbide spoke to newsmen shortly after the event as she noted that counseling was about compassion and commitment .
While the vice chairman of CASSON , Delta State Chapter Comrade( Mrs )Rose Obi who also spoke, remarked that the conference was the best that the association has ever had in the state just as she gave God the glory for the huge success of the event.
