NAPPS donates trophy for Quiz Competition on Uvwie monarch’s coronation anniversary

National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter has donated a trophy for quiz competition on the forthcoming 15th coronation anniversary of HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom on Thursday 30th March, 2023 .

Speaking shortly before making the donation, the chairman of the association in the local government area, Comrade (Mrs) Rose Obi lauded the highly esteemed traditional ruler for his passion for education and for his laudable achievements in education so far in the local government area .

She explained that the gesture was aimed at identifying with the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in his laudable educational programs in the kingdom so far .

In his response, HRM Abe 1 thanked the association for identifying and patnering with the palace in its educational programs.

He noted that education was the key to any meaningful development and that was why he regarded education as his foremost priority in Uvwie Kingdom.

The traditional ruler also stated that Uvwie scholarship scheme was for both indigenes and non indigenes in the area and that scores of non- indigenes have benefited from the scheme right from primary to university level.

He was full of praises for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his five million naira annual contributions toward the scheme for four years.

High point of the event was the presentation of the trophy to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom by Comrade Mrs Rose Obi through the Secretary of Ogwedion (traditional council of chiefs) Dr (: Chief ) Jimoh Samuel Eshanake JP .

A non indigene and an Uvwie chief, Chief Aminu Ndidi who spoke to newsmen affirmed that HRM Abe 1 had treated non Indigenes as indigenes in his rulership of Uvwie Kingdom.
