SWAN President visits Leadership, Blueprint newspapers

As part of activities marking visits to media houses across Nigeria, the President, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin on Monday, 7 August, 2023 visited two major newspaper outfits in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The media outfits visited are Leadership, and Blueprint Newspapers respectively.

In his entourage was the SWAN Secretary-General, Ikenna Okonkwo.

The President’s media aide, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson made the disclosure in a statement availed journalists on Monday.

At the Leadership newspapers, where he currently works as the Kaduna State Bureau Chief, the President was warmly received by the Senior Vice Chairman/ Editor In Chief; Azu Ishiekwene alongside the Group Managing Director, Elazah Muazu at the Abuja headquarters.

He used the opportunity to present to management, his certificate of return from the recently conducted election at the national triennial delegate conference of SWAN in Port Harcourt; where he won as President.

He also took out time to fraternize with his senior, contemporary and junior colleagues at the Leadership headquarters.

At the Blueprint Newspapers Ltd, he was also warmly received by the Chief Operating Officer, Malam Salisu Umar and the Daily Editor, Abdulrauf Abdulrahman and SWAN Secretary-General Ikenna Okonkwo, who is also the Online Editor of the medium and other management staff.

At both media outfits, he solicited support of their respective managements in coverage of SWAN’s activities.
