Nigeria’s economic challenges have obviously defied and overwhelmed economic theories and policies as initiated and implemented by the Tinubu administration and hence, an immediate recourse to God for cosmic intervention is now being sought to usher in a more prosperous  and economically viable and renewed hope in year 2025 and beyond .

This announcement was made by Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, the Director General of the National Prayer Forum, NPF, in Abuja.

Afolorunikan stated that the theme for the 2024 national prayer is “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs.”

The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, are set to lead national prayers seeking God’s intervention in the country’s economic challenges.

The prayer, organized in collaboration with both Christian and Muslim leaders, aims to request divine assistance in addressing the nation’s crises.

He further explained that this event, in partnership with religious leaders, is intended to usher Nigeria into 2025 with renewed hope and purpose.

“By the end of this prayer session, we believe that with God’s wisdom, our leaders and citizens will find the strength to confront our common enemies,” Afolorunikan said.

The order of prayer as planned and announced by the NPF director stipulates that “Muslims will gather at the National Mosque in Abuja for seven days, during which 313 individuals will recite the Qur’an, culminating in the recitation of the Holy Text 2,191 times for national stability.

“Christians will meet at the National Ecumenical Centre for a week of intense prayer, with prayer warriors from various denominations focusing their efforts on the nation’s adversities.” Afolorunikan stated
