Rain disrupts electoral materials in Warri

Lower Erejuwa voting unit

Rain has distrupted the distribution of electoral materials in most electoral wards monitored by our correspondent in Warri South Local Government Area.

Electoral materials arrived as late as 2pm in Agbassa Primary School Ward 8 when the rain started.

Even at as then, most electoral wards have not seen INEC offials and materials at as the time of filing this report .

There was a massive turnout by residents for the disappointing residents.

Residents that spoke to our correspondent complained bitterly about the delay.

Those that spoke were Coach Paul Obire, the Chairman of Lower Erejuwa Motor Sparts Association Emeka Odili , the immediate past Chairman of the association, Deacon Francis Uju and the Oghwuvie of Igbudu Community Ambassador Kennedy Okere.

Soldiers mounted road blocks st major road junctions in Warri South Local Government Area at as early as 5am .

Meanwhile voters defied the heavy downpour and the delay in expressing their willingness and readiness to cast their votes.

However voting has not started in some of the said wards at as 4:15 pm .
