* Boyfriens attempts suicide
By Thompson Obayangbon, Accra
For turning down the advances of her boyfriend to sleep with her a 26 year old Nurse, Comfort Oppong, received a kitchen knife wounds in her abdomen, lower and upper parts of her arms after her boyfriend stabbed her multiple times.
Sources said the incident followed an altercation between the lovebirds at Pramso, a suburb of Sweduru in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti in Ghana.
Her attacker, Kwasi Asuman, who attempted to take his own life after the incident, was also battling for his life at the Emergency Center of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Comfort’s refusal to allow her boyfriend spend the night at her place sparked the attack on her.
Asuman, who broke up with Comfort about five months ago, had returned on January 27, 2024 under the guise of visiting the one-and-a-half year-old child he fathered with the victim and demanded to spend the night with his ex-girl friend.
But Comfort turned down the request.
What started as a small argument between the once lovers then turned bloody when Asuman stabbed Comfort seven times on the thighs and stomach with a kitchen knife, leaving her with multiple wounds.
She was rescued by neighbours, who sent her to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
“My daughter called, gave the phone to Akwasi and talked him through. Yet, after minutes I could hear my daughter scream. I came to the hospital to meet with bandages all over her,” Vincent Kofi Frimpong, Comfort’s father, said.
Meanwhile, Akwasi Asuman, who attempted to take his life after committing the act, was admitted alongside his ex-girlfriend at the same facility.
