By Kingsley Abavo in Benin

“The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State Chapter received with rude shock, the video making the rounds that its members were involved in the mayhem at Ogbe Quarters in Benin as a result of the desperation of some persons to take over the Parks .”

This was the reaction of the APC to the video said to be in circulation on Sunday, in a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Prince Peter Uwadiae Enosorogbe Igbinigie Esq and made available to the media in Benin.

The Party denies; none of its members had its authority to embark on such unlawful and heinous acts.

“It must be stated without equivocation that APC is not aware of such concocted desperation, neither did it mandate any of its members to do anything that is contrary to the established norms; that is, an incoming administration or government can not get involved in governance no matter how remotely connected, until the baton is exchanged; in this case until the 12th of November, 2024.

“As a matter of deliberate emphasis, neither the APC nor the Governor-elect, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo instructed any person or group of persons to undermine this cast in stone norms.”

The APC held that the allegations were bogus and remains the handiwork of mischief makers to destroy its revered image, and that of the distinguished Governor-elect.

“Let it be noted that these bogus allegations remain the handiworks of mischief makers who are bent on tarnishing the revered image of our party, and that of the Distinguished Governor-elect.

“Against the backdrop of the above stated facts, the party calls on the police to discreetly and thoroughly investigate these allegations which have no iota of truth; and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book because APC detest crimes and criminalities within the State and among its fold.”
