APC will take over Delta in 2027, Ganduje assures

* Ika people reject Oborevwori bid to join APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, will take over Delta State in 2027.

National chairman of APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje gave the assurance yesterday, Saturday, April 12 during the official reception ceremony held to welcome members of the Delta Unity Group, DUG to APC.

Dr Ganduje said from available data, 60 per cent of members of PDP in Delta State have crossed over to APC.

He thanked Chiedu Ebie, Chairman of NDDC who is the leader of the DUG for the very intelligent arrangement that ensured a harem of defectors from the PDP to the APC. By the successful arrangement, Ganduje said, the DUG has proven that it is the capable and efficient vehicle to carry the APC to Delta State Government House in 2027.

He however called for unity among members of the APC in Delta State so that they could easily win the election and provide good leadership and governance to the people of Delta State.

Ganduje further assured that very soon an all stakeholders meeting will be convened by him to resolve the challenges faced by the party in Delta State.

In his capacity as National Chairman of the party he received all the members of the DUG into the APC.

Earlier, National publicity secretary of the APC, Felix Morka Esq told the National Chairman, Ganduje that the huge crowd at the rally was in protest of the level of decadence and maladministration of the PDP in over 20 years they have held onto power in the Delta State.

But the people of Ika federal Constituency were determined to turn things around for the better and hence, the mammoth crowd and huge members of defectors from PDP to APC.

” The people gathered here in rejection of the abysmal way the PDP has governed the State and are determined to expel PDP from Delta State. ”

He called for prudence to perform better than the PDP when power, which is certain to change hands in 2027, moves to the APC.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo who enjoyed the support of Agbor people domiciled in Orhiovwon local government area was present to reciprocate the gesture and in his excitement said, it was time for the APC in Delta State to shine.

“It is happening here, what has happened in Edo State is possible here and by God’s grace new things will happen in Delta State.

Senator Ovie OmoAgege, immediate past Deputy Senate President of the 9th senate in his remarks said the national chairman of the APC came to Delta State at a time the party has recorded massive growth in membership.

He commended Chiedu Ebie and Felix Morka Esq for effort in enrolling increase membership of the party in Ika federal Constituency against all odds of opposition from the PDP.

He said that in the Hallmark if the 2023 election the APC mobilized and secured two senators and presently the party controls the three senatorial districts of the state with the recent defection of Senator Ned Nwoko to the APC.

According to him, over 60 per cent of PDP members have joined the APC and therefore, there was no reason why Tinubu will not be returned in 2027.

“We are ready to deliver in 2027 but we need the support the of the presidency and national leadership of the party to help resolve the challenges we have so that the party can unite and tackle the 2027 election.”

Taking turn to speak, Senator Ned Nwoko said the APC is happy that a huge group like the DUG was following his footstep in joining the APC.

He called for efforts to ensure 100 per cent victory at the polls for all elective offices in 2027.

” The era of PDP in Delta State is over so we must take over. The next government in Delta State will be formed by the APC. Even the governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori wants to come to the APC but we don’t want him in APC.”

Firebrand daughter of Chief James Ibori, former governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Erhiatake Ibori Suenu member representing Ethiope federal Constituency elated by the development of the day said the DUG has had the APC in mind since 2023. She said the shape of the event was a signal of what to expect in 2027 when APC will take over Delta State.

According to Ibori’s daughter, Deltans are convinced that the only way to progress in Nigeria was to return President Bola Tinubu in 2027 ” and we are ready for that and there is no stopping us” she added.

Convener and chief host of the event and national leader of DUG, Chiedu Ebie said by the successful hosting of the event the people of Ika federal Constituency have just got their liberation from the bondage the PDP placed on them over the years.

He said forthwith, the Ika federal Constituency has been completely taken over by APC and “this is just the beginning. ”

The DUG was the brain box of the campaign platform of Olorogun David Edevbie who vied for the governorship candidature of the PDP in 2023 with an agenda to modernize Delta State. The political pressure group is deeply rooted in the grassroots of Delta State with cell-like structures across the 25 local government areas of the State.
