The Otota of Okere Urhobo Kingdom High Chief (retired Brigadier General ) Gold Eburu has stated that Agbarha Warri people and Okere Urhobo people are good Urhobo neighbours in Warri South Local Government Area .
He stated this in his speech during the condolence visit of chiefs of Okere Urhobo Kingdom to Agbarha Warri people on the transition of HRM London Aforkerhi Itu JP Ememoh 11 the Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom at Igbudu Regency Hall, Igbudu Community, Warri on Wednesday 22nd March, 2023 .
The highly esteemed retired Nigerian Army General who doubles as the Regent of Okere Urhobo Kingdom promised that Okere Urhobo Kingdom will stand by Agbarha Warri Kingdom in the rite of passage of the Agbarha Warri monarch.
” What touches Agbarha Warri Kingdom touches Okere Urhobo Kingdom ” he added.
While condonling the Agbarha Warri people, the traditional mouth piece of Okere Urhobo Kingdom noted that the Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom fondly called Orhifi left legacies of peace, love and unity between the Agbarha Warri and Okere Urhobo kingdoms.
He therefore urged the Agbarha Warri people to sustain the legacies of the departed Agbarha Warri monarch.
Eburu had earlier painfully noted that the demise of Orhifi was a personal loss to him .
He recalled that his first assignment as an Otota of Okere Urhobo Kingdom was an errand by HRM Okumagba 11:, the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom and HRM Ememoh 11 the Ovie of Agbarha Warri on a condolence visit to the Itsekeri Nation on the demise of His Majesty Ikenwoli 1, the Olu of Warri .
The Chairman Agbarha Warri Regency Council High Chief Willie Atebefia Digbori JP in his response, thanked the chiefs and people of Okere Urhobo Kingdom for the condolence visit.
He also promised that the Okere Urhobo people will be duely informed of the rite of passage of HRM Ememoh 11 and gladly accept the request of Okere Urhobo people of involvement in the forthcoming rite of passage of the Agbarha Warri monarch.
