The remains of late Ma Esiso Esther Mrakpor has been laid to rest in her compound at Iwhrekan in Ughelli South LGA.

Revd Can S.G.O Ogoro presenting the homily for the dead

In a homily for the dead, the Revd Can S.G.O Ogoro said the belief in the resurrection of the dead gave hope to the living as contained in the Bible Book of 1 Thessalonian 4: 13.

” This funeral service is the only social activity the celebrant is not allowed to participate . The remains of the dead lying there is a reminder that one day we will die and stand before the Maker but what is important  is that when we fall asleep,  we fall asleep before God.”

He called on those who had not known God to sieze the opportunity  to repent.

He said the large crowd of sympathizers who graced the funeral was a testament of the good life Ma Esiso Esther Mrakpor  lived and hence, they came to celebrate her life with the children.

The Revd Can S.A Erediyoma, Vicar of the St Paul Anglican Church, Otu Jeremi in a commendation charged the soul of the departed to ” go forth upon your journey in the name of God the Father who created you; in the name of Christ who suffered for you; in the name of the Holy Spirit who sanctified you; and may your rest be in peace and your dwelling in the paradise of the people of God.”
