Hon. Osaretin Edosomwan has officially informed Leaders of his Party: the All Progressives Congress (APC) and supporters; about his aspiration seeking the ticket for the Edo State South Senatorial district in next year’s general elections.
In a gathering of the Party leaders in the district a couple of days ago, Edosomwan appealed for their unwavering support ahead of the screening of aspirants slated for the month of May.
“We have come to solicit the support of our Party leaders and supporters, to trust and nominate us for the Edo State South Senatorial district sole ticket in the next year general elections.
By the grace of God, we have what it takes not only to win the election for our Party but effectively and efficiently represent our people at the national Assembly and bring to them the much desired dividends of democracy, he asserted.
The Senate is not a place for amateur and the mediocre. It is a place for serious business where you go drag, deploying all the needed knowledge and diplomacy in pushing the interests of ones’ constituents, he stated.
Promising to put the vast knowledge and experience in his personal businesses in the representation of his constituents, Edosomwan said it would not be business as usual. “Our people are tired of fake stories.”
Edo State particularly, the South Senatorial district, is hugely blessed with both natural and human resources, he noted; these he said would be harnessed to creating employment for the people of the area.
“I have come to tell my people; this is not the time to put someone there who will come home to tell you that there is nothing in Abuja. If there is nothing in Abuja, return home to stay with the people.
“I am going into a social contract with my people; they will know what is happening in Abuja. My salary will be published including all that is happening in there.”
This is as he promised; to have quarterly meeting with his people to creating a two way information channel, for positive impacts’ representation.
“By the grace of God if they trust me enough to give me the ticket and we win the election, it will be a win – win situation for us all and not business as usual.”
He adds; that the drive behind his aspiration is not because he wants more money for himself, but to help alleviate the pains of his constituents and add more value to their lives through the instrumentality of been in the Senate.
