* Call on Obidients to vote Omo-Agege March 11
By Jon Egie
A lead post by Samuel Okome Edegware on Umeh Need Road WhatsApp group page has generated heated argument on call for support for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in the forth coming March 11, governorship election in Delta State.
In the post, the authour said, “It would be very unfair to visit Okowa’s sins on Sheriff Oborevwori, these are two distinct individuals”.
But in swift reaction, Deltans lashed at the poster and others who supported the plea for mercy and call for support for Sheriff Oborevwori on March 11, 2023.
Various arguments advanced pointed out the reasons why Sheriff Oborevwori should be severely punished for aiding and abetting Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to loot Delta State dry for the sake of their personal political ambitions and called on Obidients who now determine the direction the political pendulum swings in Delta State to rise to the occasion and serve Sheriff Oborevwori justice due to him for his criminal connivance with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to smartly impoverish Deltans for the past eight years.
Out of 72 comments on the post at press time, most relevant were synchronized to drive home the thought and stand of Deltans/Obidients ahead of the March 11 governorship election.
Uruaka Goodwin Harrison in his comment said, “Sheriff Oborevwori is the House of Assembly Speaker who has helped Governor Okowa to loot Delta State dry. You can’t talk about the wickedness of Okowa and avoid that of Sheriff who he used to make sure everything he presented to the House was approved. Nothing was ever denied, all loans and all projects that money was allocated to twice without doing anything, were all approved.
But the authour in attempting to defend Sheriff Oborevwori argued that for fear of impeachment, Sheriff kept mute and refused to say ‘No’ to Governor Okowa’s demands of approval of loans. However, Uruaka opposed him saying, if Sheriff had balls and stood for truth, he could have rejected the loans approval requests and the worst was he could have been removed as Speaker and not from being a member of the House since Governor Okowa has no such powers.
Esimoni Clement quickly interjected, recalling the pledge and vow of members of Delta Political Vanguard, DPV, the political machine of Governor Okowa proclaiming that wherever Okowa went there they would go; in the dawn of search for goveenoeship candidate of the PDP especially with Olorogun David Edevbie as their Ikemefuna (target victim). And in that premise, he joined Sheriff and Okowa in one apron string and declared that Obidients in Delta State are joining force with Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to rescue Delta State from the hands of Okowa and Sheriff who, Ophori Etaoghene described as , “Two distinct individuals with same and common goals to finish Deltans. They are birds of a feather, they fly together. I say no to anything Okowa. Where Okowa goes they go. Okowa is down, Sheriff must go down, Esimoni added
Ovedje Jerry Hezekiah vexatiously declared that Sheriff will reap the reward of sins of Okowa for the past eight years particularly, Okowa’s recent wicked action in ensuring that Isoko federal Constituency results were overturned after being declared inconclusive. Sheriff will reap what Okowa sowed on March 11. He said.
Adding voice, Ogogo Igogo Emamusi Clinton described Governor Okowa who he nicknamed as Okowayo, and Sheriff Oborevwori as partners in crime. Both have failed the teeming unemployed youths of Delta State, they failed to deliver on infrastructure, they failed civil servants and failed our retirees. So, it will be bad to reinforce such failures. Agege is a better option.
When Ophori Etaoghene restated that Sheriff was part and parcel of the sins Governor Okowa committed, Hon Good luck Ograse Emamuzo opposed his view and attempted to extricate Sheriff from the punishment of the sins of Okowa. But Eni Kome shouted him down pointing out that, “Sheriff is Okowa personified.”
Ewomazino Joseph Iviero would not subscribe to the argument and requested clarification on the indictment of Okowa and why Sheriff should join in carrying Okowa’s Cross of Punishment of sins. “Did Okowa sin? Shuo! Or is he the father of Sheriff that his sins must be visited upon him? Na wa!”
Making clarification on the indictment of Okowa, Dicko Ogu asserted that there is no difference between Speaker Sheriff Oborevwori and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa calling both of them partners in crime.
“What is the difference between Sheriff and Okowa? The man that aids and abets a criminal is not different from the criminal. I saw students, everyday, in Oleh especially Emiye Girls Grammar school students whom Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan provided with two school buses to ease their pains but Okowa took everything away under the watch of Sheriff Oborevwori. Scholarship for First Class students of Delta State origin was also taken away. City buses, primary healthcare, school fees hike, students’ bursaries, Pensioners and Retirees etc. What did Sheriff Oborevwori do to caution Okowa? Nothing because he was a fore beneficiary….we saw the impact of APC led by Essien Okiemute House of Assembly to Isoko South Constituency 1, and till date, no one has done anything tangible.
“I am calling on all Obidients to rally round Ovie Omo-Agege for a EDGE Agenda. Check history of Ukodo pepper soup, na fight dey end am, e nor dey reach everybody. Say no to MORE borrowing and media aides appointment. Say yes to the EDGE working agenda to reposition our dear State. Vote Ovie Omo-Agege dear Obidients. We have already seen what PDP has offered in Delta State, give Ovie Omo-Agege this opportunity.”
Iki Ebieroma William in his submission said, ” The two of them are accomplices in the borrowing spree. Sheriff as an offshoot of Okowa will do more damages hence, it is anathema to talk about Sheriff succeeding Okowa. It is a done deal. The principal members of the Delta State House of Assembly who passed the bills with thunder light speed are as guilty as the Loan Master and must be voted out.
“We need a new Delta. I am calling on all Deltans to repeat what happened on February 25, 2023 election. Any results not supported by BVAS should be rejected. In criminal law, there is something called, ‘Common Intention’ . This makes him (Sheriff) liable to deserve a fair share of punishment already meted on Okowa. And hence, the OkowaSheriff ticket must be punished come March 11, Eferakorho Mute Daniel added.
