St . Kevin’s College Old Students Association ( SKCOSA ) has lauded renowned educationist and community leader, Chief David Siakpere over the educational development of her members.
This was contained in the eloquent speech of the leader of the association ‘ s delegation , Elder Emmanuel Odokuma to the residence of the retired Delta State Government school principal in Enerhen , Uvwie Local Government Area last weekend.
Odokuma proudly and gladly remarked that Chief Siakpere impacted positively on the lives of members of the association as a principal of Kokori Grammar School , Kokori Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State in the 70s .
Other members of the delegation also spoke volumes of the positive impact of the Ughievwen Egbo – Uhurie born economist and disciplinarian on their lives and lives of other members of the association who are doing fine in their various fields of endeavours.
They proudly mentioned that the late Olu of Warri His Majesty Ikenwoli 1 ( of blessed memory ) , Retired Delta State permanent secretary, Chief Victor Onogagamue , former member of Delta State House of Assembly Hon Akpodiogaga Emeyese among others were principaled by the sage.
Chief David Siakpere in his thoughtful speech , underscored the importance of education in human development.
He remarked that he was proud to know about the academic achievements of those that went under his tutulage as a principal .
Siakpere also recalled that he was instrumental to the bringing of electricity to the ancient community of Agbon Kingdom of Kokori when he was transferred to the college .
The retired Delta State Government secondary school principal also averred that he was honoured by the Warri Anglican Communion for his contributions to humanity.
He had earlier appreciated SKCOSA for the visit , the presentation of an undisclosed sum of money and encomiums of delegates of the association.
It would be recalled that Chief Siakpere was also a principal in Hussey College, Warri, Government College, Ughelli and Urhobo College Effurun.
John Oghojafor ( a lawyer and veteran journalist ) Dr John Edafe Atajeromavwo ( former Deputy Rector Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashikwu ) , Dr Thomas Oremegue , Elder Matthew Egeregor ,Francis Obukohwo , Augustine Eyetan , Prince Austin Ejegi , Tojo Arenyeka ( a lawyer and chairman of Warri Branch of SKCOSA ) and Ambrose Ologide ( National Publicity Secretary of SKCOSA ) were in the delegation of the association to the residence of Chief David Siakpere.
The wife of Chief Siakpere, Chief ( Mrs ) Christiana Siakpere ( retired Delta State permanent secretary and Woman leader UPU Worldwide ) was also present during the visit.
