Caricature of George Orwell's Snowball

A utopic society is an impeccable society, where deceit is supposed to be absent. However, deception clearly exists in “Animal Farm”, by George Orwell (1945) and this is shown through the abuse of the ignorant animals by other deceitful animals.

Cleverly, Sylvester Imonina called up his own treachery and manipulation when in his piece referenced above, he shifted focus to Squealer, a sycophant in the allegory of Orwell with an intention to deride the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State and Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege.

But in all, it was a silly attempt to manipulate and persuade Deltans to return their support to the already abandoned PDP whose lies and deceit have led Deltans to seek redemption in the warm promise of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Significantly, he eventually indicted Gov. Okowa in his ill-thought out satire.

Animal Farm’s Napoleon is unarguably Governor Okowa whose penchant for treachery, propaganda, betrayal, empty promises among other dubious qualities mark his reign at the Osadebe House. His governance through lies and the exploitation of our collective patrimony and innocence with the help of lap dogs, attack dogs (such as Imonina) and all manner of dogs; with the “Squealer”whom he parades as a Governorship candidate as the new capo DI tutti capo.

Okowa and his echelon of thieves remain the worst thing to have happened to Delta. They are like Napoleon’s allies, who in quest for power overthrew Snowball haven falsely convinced the other animals of Napoleon’s qualifications as a leader. Deltans have already understood the gimmicks and political schemings of Okowa who wishes to continue leadership of the state by proxy through the “unspeaking speaker” of the State House of Assembly.

Imonina Sylvester, Esq

As we move into the field, our people are aware of the hands of Esau and the voice of Jacob already packaged by the PDP to sell to Deltans. Hence, it will be impossible to overthrow the Snowball of this dispensation, the Snowball represented by truth, honesty and justice, which Deltans have resolved to follow.

Consequently, I will advise Imonina and his sponsors to prepare to lick their long foretold wounds, because no amount of sponsored propaganda and mudslinging will kill the OVIENEBI mandate whose time has come.
