Police Operatives of Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) of the Nigeria Police. Force Headquarters Abuja have recovered ten arms from among those of the 13 Police rifles that were stolen when Operatives of the NPF were ambushed and gruesomely murdered in Ohoro forest, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.
Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, ACP Olomuyiwa Adejobi in release said some of the assailants responsible for the tragic loss of the serving police officers were liquidated when the criminal suspects engaged Operatives or FID-IRT in a shoot-out and during the gunfight some of them were neutralised and the gallant Operatives recovered ten arms out of the 13 police rifles that were stolen in that tragic incident and other weapons that were used by the assailants.
Meanwhile, six suspected members of a gang of kidnappers terrorising Lagos-Ibadan Expressway have been arrested by the police. The were said to be in police custody and cooperating with the police in the ongoing investigation regarding kidnapping in the area.
” The IGP, Kayode Egbetokun has reassured the public that the Police will continue to employ all necessary measures to combat criminal activities across the nation as the safety and security of Nigerian citizens remain the top priority, and the Force is committed to maintaining peace and order through diligent and proactive efforts. He reiterated the determination of his leadership to creating a safe and secure environment for all citizens while appreciating their support and cooperation.
