Operatives of Delta State Police Command have arrested a female suspect who is a member of a gang that specializes in drugging unsuspecting Okada riders and dispossessing them of their motorcycles.
The arrested culprit, identified as Aisha Hassan and one other accomplice was said to had pretended to be passengers and boarded an Okada and headed to
Kenu Guest House located at Bonsaac, Asaba.
At the hotel the suspect provided drugged drink for the Okadaman who slept off after consuming the liquor and woke up to find out that his motorcycle worth N330,000 with Engine No. 162FMJ510828953, chasis No. IPCKL11M1018611 had vanished
On complaining to the police, the Area Commander Asaba ACP Nuhu Hamidu, detailed Police detectives to investigate and ensure that the said suspects were arrested.
Consequently, the team went on an intelligence led investigation and arrested one of the suspect named Aisha Hassan who informed that her gang member took the motorcycle to an unknown destination.
Effort to arrest the fleeing gang member and recover the motorcycle is on, a statement issued by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe said.
The statement added that the CP has urged members of the public to help with any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect and also recover the said motorcycle using the following lines of the PPRO’s office of the Command:
