A kidnap victim, Rebecca Mathew who was lured away from her home in Bondiga community in Niger State and abducted by a kidnap suspect, Billa Halili, 30, of Kosso community in Sokoto State has been rescued by Operatives of Delta State Police Command in Oza Nogogo.
The Operatives who were led by the DPO of Agbor Division, CSP Obekpa Michael acted on intelligence report regarding the activities of the suspect forcefully abducting girls from the North and keeping them in custody at his house against their will.
The police Operatives trailed the suspect to Oza Nogogo community and raided his presmises. The suspect was seen with the victim said to have been abducted on September 11th 2025.
Assisted by members of the local vigilante force, the DPO and his team, rescued Rebecca Mathew of Bodinga Community in Washegu LGA, Niger State and the suspect, Bila Halili, was arrested.
The victim who obviously was under a hypnotic spell revealed that she was lured from her family home by the suspect who later destroyed her phone SIM card to prevent her family members from reaching her before taking her away
The police later contacted her mother, Esther Moses in Niger State who confirmed that the victim actually went missing on September 2, 2025 and that a formal report was made to the Police in Niger State.
Investigation on the matter is ongoing, PPRO to Delta State Police Command, SP Edafe Bright said in a statement.
