Operatives of Delta State Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team, CP-SAT, have shot dead three criminal suspects who were among occupants of a shuttle bus that engaged the police in a gunfight in Ughelli.

The Operatives while conducting a covert surveillance patrol along Ughell-Patani Road; Tuesday, May 27, flagged down an approaching shuttle bus by Evwreni Junction. On sighting the police Operatives the occupants of the bus opened gunfire on the police to clear the way for their escape.
The Operatives in response, engaged the suspects in a gunfight during which three of the suspects were hit and sustained serious gunshot injuries while others escaped.
The injured suspects were taken to the hospital where they died while receiving treatment, a first information report issued by the PPRO, Delta State Police Command, SP Edafe Bright said.
One AK-47 assault rifle with 18 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects, the police report added.
