A notorious dealer and peddler of illicit drugs in Ughelli and environs has been arrested by Operatives of Delta State Police Command.
The suspect identified as Egbule Isioma, 52, ‘f’ operates a chemist store opposite Afiesere Town Hall, Ughelli.
Three of her apprentices: Mercy John, Favour John and Amarach Ngozi were arrested with her.
Operatives executed a search warrant on her residence and recovered a huge cache’ of illicit drugs among which were: 355 bottles of CSC Codein, 57 rolls of 50mg Tramadol capsules, 335 rolls of 100mg Tramadol capsules, 33 rolls of 200mg Super royal, 7 backwoods, 540 sachets of Swinol capsules and 16 cups of Canadian liquid Canabis.

Abuse of the drugs which is often associated with youths cause mind boggling and high propensity to committing crime.
A statement issued by the Command’s PPRO, SP Edafe Bright said the raid and consequent arrest was in line with the ongoing campaign against use of illicit drugs aimed at halting abuse of the drugs and contain the harmful effects to Nigerian youths.
Meanwhile, members of a criminal gang that was allegedly involved in the robbery operation that took place at Niger Delta University, Oghara last year, have been arrested.

The gang led by Samson Ugbe aka Big Man and his members namely: Emmanuel Edam, Frank Aminu, Sampson Irorowe and Yahaya Bashir were arrested following investigation on a recent robbery operation that took place on August 26, 2025 at Agbarha-Otor.
The victim, name withheld, had complained to the police that a 5-man armed robbery gang was involved in the operation during which, his phones, laptops, 65-inch TV and other valuables were forcefully taken from him.
The investigation led to the arrest of one Faith Perry from whom one of the stolen phones was recovered. She led Police Operatives to her boyfriend, Kelly Otobure who gave her the phone as a gift. Kelly was then arrested and when a search warrant was executed in his house, other exhibits stolen from the house of the victim which include PlayStation and 4 mobile phones were recovered from him.

Subsequently, Kelly led the Operatives to their gang leader, Samson Ugbe aka Big Man who was eventually arrested.
All suspects are in police custody as investigation is ongoing.
