* Recover 100 pieces of 7.62mm live ammo

The command, under the leadership of CP Wale Abass, has recorded another major achievement in the fight against crime and criminality. The remarkable feats are due to the proactive approach to crime fighting adopted by the command in Warri, Ughelli, and Sapele and areas, as part of measures put in the place to ensure that the state is peaceful and crime free.
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a female gunrunner from whom 100 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recoverd.
The suspect, a 34 years old woman, identified as Queen Uwagbogu was arrested in her residence close to Effurun Roundabout near Warri where she does illegal business of sales of AK 47 assault rifles.
The Operatives who acted on actionable intelligence on Friday, May 18, mobilized a crack squad and raided the suspect’s home where she was arrested.
Investigation on the matter is ongoing, according to a release issued by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe.
Meanwhile, on the same day, at about 1857hrs, acting on an actionable intelligence gathered about a woman who deals on illegal sales of AK47 ammunition, operatives of the Crack Squad raided her premises located close to Effurun Roundabout, Warri, during the raid, the suspect named Queen Uwagbogu ‘f’ 34yrs was arrested, and one hundred (100) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered. Investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, on the same day, at about 0745hrs, Operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while conducting stop and search operations at Ophorigbala community along Okpare-Ovwor Road close to Ughelli, flagged down a Lexus RS 350 black in colour with Reg. No. RBC 811 CY. The driver suspiciously offered the Operatives money, which they rejected and sensing trouble, immediately zoomed off.
When he noticed that the RRS Operatives were hot on his trail and closing in on him, he quickly abandoned the vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush.
The vehicle was recovered, a battle axe, and two (2) Iphones were also recovered.
In Sapele, Operatives of the Sapele Division attached to the Anti crime patrol on Friday, May 18 ,2023 at about 2100hrs were on stop and search duty at Amukpe roundabout Sapele, when they intercepted an unregistered motocycle with three occupants, the suspects on sighting the police, abandoned the motorcycle, their bags and ran into the bush.
When the bag was searched, two (2) cut-to-size locally made double barrel guns, seven (7) rounds of 7.62mm Ak47 live ammunition, eleven (11) live cartridges, and other items were recovered.
Investigation is ongoing in all of the cases, said the PPRO who attributed the successes to proactive approaches employed by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass to fight crime and criminality around Warri, Ughelli and Sapele.
