The Arrowhead of Aro Bagger confraternity who had allegedly been in violent attacks of rival secret cult members around Ogharafe and suspected to be involved in the murder of one Onyekachi Chibuzor, 42, alias Odogwu on July 28, and the murder of Destiny Idi, 27, of Ovade community Ogharefe on August 5; has been arrested by Operatives of Oghara police station of Delta State Police Command.
Identified as Charles Debi-Abate, 39, he is a native of Oghara but resident in Mosogar.
Details of his arrest as provided in a release issued by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe said following a directive by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Oghara to fish out those involved in the murder of the young man, Destiny Idi, the DPO of Oghara, CSP Olasunkanmi Musiliu carried out a discreet investigation and aides by eye witness accounts, traced the suspect to a hotel in Oghara where the suspect was arrested.
The suspect has however denied involvement in the murder of the younger victim and pointed accusing fingers at two members of the cult gang, Onyeka and Paul as the real culprits.
Day before yesterday, Wednesday, August 9, the suspect led Operatives to the residences of the accused, Onyeka and Paul who unfortunately were not at home but a search of the home premises revealed two English pump action guns, 20 live cartridges, and one GLK Benz SUV with registration no. RBC-995-DG which were recovered by the police.
Suspect and exhibits are in custody while manhunt for other fleeing members of the cult gang is ongoing.
