An internet fraudster identified as Mamus Obine, 18, from Agbarho in Ughelli North LGA who had been double-crossed by his fellow internet fraudster and was on a mission to kill the doublecrosser has been arrested by the police along Ughelli-Warri Road.
The suspect who is said to be a member of a 3-man operating gang was arrested on Tuesday, December 21, by men of Eagle -net Special Squad of the Delta State Police Command.
A statement by the Command’s PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe said the suspect who was carried on a motorcycle disembarked from the motorcycle on sighting the police who were on stop and search duty along the Ughelli-Warri Road and ran into the bush.
He was however fetched out after a hot chase by the police and on search, a locally made double barrel pistol with ten rounds of ammunition was recovered from him.
The suspect confessed the names of other members of his gang who he simply identified as Austin and ThankGod.
He further confessed that he was on a mission to search out and kill one Kingsley who he claimed cheated him in sharing of N800,000 being proceed from a victim of internet fraud.
He was actually going to attack the said Kingsley with the gun when the police intercepted and arrested him.
“Investigation is on and manhunt for the other members of the gang is ongoing.” The police statement added
