Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have ambushed and killed a kidnap suspect along the Benin-Auchi Expressway
A release issued by the Command’s DPPRO, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu said the
Operatives of the Command in collaboration with local Vigilentee while on routine patrol came across some hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers who have concluded plans to operate along the Benin-Auchi expressway by Obadan Junction, yesterday, Sunday, August 28.
“The hoodlums on sighting the team of operatives opened fire on them while scampering for safety but the superior firepower from the team of operatives neutralized one of the suspected kidnappers while others escaped with various degrees of gunshot injuries.
“The following items were recovered at the scene ;
1. One cut-to-size barrel gun
2. Four live cartridges
3. One handset
4. One torchlight
“Rigorous bush combing is still ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, fdc while commending the gallantry of the operatives, firmly warns criminal elements and their cohorts to relocate from the State or risk being arrested to face the full wrath of the law.
“He further reassured the good people of the State, of the Command’s unalloyed commitment to ensuring a peaceful environment for all.” The release said
