Two Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) chieftains in Warri South Local Government Area, Hon Dr Hope George and Hon Amah Agbajor have commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the state party chairman , Chief Kingsley Esiso over the success of PDP primaries so far in Delta State.
They made the commendation in a separate media chats with newsmen during the PDP Delta South Senatorial District primaries at the Warri Township Stadium yesterday, Monday 23rd May, 2022.
George who is a Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) to Governor Okowa on Political Matters gave the governor a pat on the back for giving a level play ground to all aspirants .
” With the outcome of the primaries both in house assembly, house of representatives and senate no aspirant will say that he or she was shortchanged.
” I will also give kudos to the Delta State PDP Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso for doing a wonderful job since he was elected ” he added
George who expressed confidence that PDP will record the same feat at the forthcoming governorship and presidential primaries urged other political parties to borrow a leaf from PDP in the conduct of their primaries.
He had earlier remarked that the winner of the Delta South Senatorial District party primaries, Hon Dr Michael Diden ( popularly called Ejele ) was the peoples choice and Peoples messanger ” that was why he ( Ejele ) recorded a landslide victory in the results that were announced ”
On his part, the former Chairman of PDP Warri South Local Government Area, Hon Amah Agbajor remarked that Governor Okowa was a true democrat and lauded him for not interfering in the primaries.
” Both winners and losers in the primaries are happy and satisfied. So he ( Governor Okowa ) truly deserve all the praises ” he added
Agbajor who is the Chairman of Ejele Campaign Organisation, Warri South Local Area, stated that Ejele deserved the victory because , “Ejele was trusted and tested and he is a grassroot politician ”
He also recalled that his principal was accepted and prayed for in the 8 local government areas in senatorial district during their consultation visits .
Meanwhile in the results that were announced, Ejele scored 176 (one hundred and seventy- six) votes , he was followed by Hon Daniel Reineju who scored 49 (forty – nine) votes.
Other aspirants, Ayodele Otihwa and Rt Hon Kent Omatsola scored 46 (forty – six( and 2 (two) votes respectively .
Hundreds of Ejele supporters defied rainfall as they danced and sang the praise of the Delta South Senatorial District hopeful around the stadium shortly after the results were officially announced.
