Delta State Government has assured of profitable reciprocals through partnership with Delta Online Publishers’ Forum, DOPF, for the sacrifice the media organization has made so far in laundering the image of the Oborevwori’s administration at the body’s own cost.
Executive Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Comrade Felix Ofou, gave the assurance when he played host to a delegation of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, (DOPF) .
Comrade Ofou while expressing appreciation to DOPF for their contribution to the success of the Oborevwori’s administration, noted that members of the Forum had consistently been publishing the activities of government over the years at their own cost, even in the current hard times, assuring that their partnership would not be taken for granted.
Comrade Ofou described online news platforms as critical stakeholders in the New Media space where DOPF members have used their vast experience and integrity to manage information on government’s activities without resorting to Yellow Journalism.
He urged members of DOPF not to hesitate to liaise with his office whenever there were issues to be clarified before going to press and pledged that the body would be carried along by the Oborevwori administration in the scheme of thing.
Earlier in an address, the Chairman of DOPF, Mr Emmanuel Enebeli who led the delegation said the visit was to congratulate Comrade Ofou on his appointment, which, he noted, would undoubtedly give the New Media space in the state a boost.
The DOPF Chairman said members of the group deserved a better deal in view of their sacrifices in running government reports on a daily basis and solicited the cooperation of the office of the Executive Assistant on New Media in that regard.
