Ovbiogie Village, Ovia – North – East Local Government Area, Edo State was agog with feasting on Saturday, 13 August, 2022 as Pa. Joshua Orhue was installed the Odionwere (most elderly) and administrative head.
The event which attracted dignitaries from far and near, marked the beginning of a new era in the metropolitan Village as Odionwere Orhue, an Assistant Supritendent of Police retired, officially assume the reigns of power.
Secretary of the Village, Hon. Osas Idehen told journalists in an interview, that after five years the last Odionwere joined his ancestors, the Benin Monarch, HRM Oba Ewuare II approved the installation of Pa. Orhue having been satisfied that there was no controversy whatsoever.
He described the new Odionwere as a quiet and peace loving person, which evidently was the reason for the large turn out for the event, he added.
Idehen saying Ovbiogie Village was fortunate having a personality of Pa. Orhue as Odionwere, expressed optimism that he would bring on board his wealth of knowledge and experience, as a retired police officer for positive impacts.
In his inaugural speech, the Odionwere announced members of his cabinet: Samuel Iserhierhien, second in command, Obamwonuyi Ogbewe, third in command, and Bernard Orhiakhi the fourth in command, while Sopia Igbinowho is the Okaighele.
Saying he was elated and thankful to God for the privilege, Odionwere Orhue promised to run an all inclusive administration to take Ovbiogie and her people, to a greater height of growth and development.
He appealed to the Benin Monarch, HRM Oba Ewuare II and Edo State Government, to intervene in the challenge of procuring a power transformer in alleviating the suffering of the people living in darkness.
