Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege said he intends to review and revise the educational system of Delta State, when elected governor.

Senator Omo-Agege disclosed this during a Townhall meeting with private schools owners held today, Monday, February 6, at the BON Hotel, Ekpan in Uvwie LGA.

He said the anticipated reviewed educational system will be people-friendly and restore credibility since investment in education yields the best dividends.

“Public spending in education will be raised” he assured, and involving the private sector would further enhance the effort, he told the private schools owners across Delta State.

He also disclosed that salary structures associated with teaching staff and shortfall of faculty and related issues will be addressed.

“Highest priority will be given to address the acute shortage of teachers and researchers, quality of education and research and also, the employability factor associated with most of the courses”.

For him, education should not only lead to employability but also job creation and entrepreneurship through introduction of national multi-skills orientation.

“We have to become a knowledge society and have to reverberate with educated skilled manpower of high standards required to meet the challenges of the 21st century. This requires a bold and visionary leadership to introduce appropriate policy and structural changes”. Senator Omo-Agege said.
