HRM Ogheneochuko Morris Eyekpimi Egbogboyen, Owhotemu ( 11) , the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri South Local Government Area has prayed that God should uplift Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for commissioning net work of roads and other development efforts in Okere Urhobo Kingdom.
This was contained in an address by the Otota ( tradititioal mouth piece ) of Okere Urhobo Kingdom , High Chief ( retired Brigadier General) Gold Eburu on behalf of the traditional ruler during the commissioning of the said road projects in Okumagba Avenue , Okere Urhobo Kingdom by Governor Okowa on Tuesday 17th May, 2023
He stated that the traditional ruler has prayed that since Governor Okowa has lifted Okere Urhobo Kingdom up, nothing can bring Governor Okowa down.
” In my capacity as a Nigerian Army General, I will continue to admire you all the days of my life because you have done a lot of good things for my community ” he added.
Governor Okowa has among other things in his address, thanked the Okere Urhobo people for giving the contractor that handled the road projects an enabling environment.
While commending the contractor for a quality job, Governor Okowa stated that ” I hope the incoming administration will continue to build on the foundation that we have laid “that
Governor Okowa had earlier stated that he was glad to be in Okere Urhobo Kingdom to commission the road projects as he proudly recalled that he had commissioned projects in the area in some time past .
The President General of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Rev Canon David Otofia spoke to our correspondent in an exclusive media chat as he remarked that ” Governor Okowa has shown that he is a man that starts well and will well finish well and strong ”
He also stated that the commissioned roads will ease traffic congestion in Warri and that the on going drainage projects when completed will also put an end to the problem of flooding in the area.
Otofia however called on the residents to protect the commissioned road projects and also clear the drainages on regular basis for durability of the projects.
