Unlike previous times, the Ughelli North Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) converged in one place to have a combined inauguration of the new executives that will run the affairs of the Christian body in its ten units for the next four years in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The inauguration ceremony which was held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Aso Top Villa Hotel in Ovwodokpopkor-Ogor, Ughelli, brought together PFN pastors from different parts of the local government area including the Delta State PFN Chairman, Bishop Dr. Kingsley Enakirerhi, whose entourage included security operatives the presence of whom added some colour to the atmosphere.
In the inauguration, the four principal officers (Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) from each of the ten units were called out for the oath which was collectively administered on them and prayers offered for them.
Some of the newly inaugurated officers are: Rev. Dr. Pius Omoro, Rev. Samson Ekpu, Rev. Dennis Uchefe, Rev. Gabriel Abrah, Rev. Isaac lmidoro, Rev. Sunny Oberedi, Rev. Isaac Azagba, Rev. Dr. Felix Emusa, Rev Gift Eze-Efe, and Rev. James Orji.
Administering the oath on the 44 new officers, the chairman of the inauguration committee, Pst Goodnews Ogomi from Agbarho Unit, charged them to remain faithful to the work of the Lord and the ideals of the PFN.
He urged them to “uphold the standard of faith and ensure compliance with the codes of ethics and to carry out all the programmes of the PFN as you are directed by the executive committee of the PFN and … to maintain the unity of the body in the bond of peace.”
Speaking earlier, the guest speaker, Rev. Dr Emman Eredoro, PFN Province 3 Chairman, referred to 1st Cor. 9:24 and likened the gospel minister to an athlete who can only rise to greatness in sports if he is focused and plays the game according to the rules.
He remarked that as it is with athletes in a relay race, the leaders should be humble and ready to receive the batons of leadership and also handle them over to others in due course with good reports.
While spurring the ministers to renew their focus on their respective callings, Dr. Eredoro who is also the General Overseer of the Hope of Glory Christian Church, Ughelli, added that they should run the race with their eyes focused on the return of Jesus Christ.
On his part, Bishop Dr.Kingsley Enakirerhi commended the leaders of the Ughelli North PFN for their commitment to the PFN and expressed satisfaction with the inauguration programme, describing the attendance and the arrangements as great and orderly.
Making reference to how God has today raised great gospel leaders such as Bishop David Oyedepo, himself and some others through their followership of and identification (then in Benin City) with the ministry of the renowned late Archbishop of the Church of God Mission, Papa Benson Idahosa, including his annual SCHOOL OF MINISTRY programme, Bishop Enakirerhi urged the pastors to draw closer, to appreciate and benefit from the great things God is doing through his ministry in Urhoboland, adding that becoming a great leader tomorrow is the product of great following of leaders today.
“Why are you far away? … People go to Port Harcourt for programmes, they go to Lagos, they go to Benin. Why can’t we build our own?” he asked.
The Urhobo-born bishop who is also the General Overseer of the Heroes of Faith Ministries Int’l then notified them about some of the programmes he runs including “Seven Hours With Jesus” (a 7-hour marathon prayer session held last Saturday of every month from 7:00am at the Heroes of Faith Ministries Int’l headquarters, Ughelli, Delta State) and urged them to take advantage of such programmes to grow their life and their ministries.
Speaking with newsmen, the CEO of the Aso Top Villa Hotel, Apostle Amb. Ogheneoro Emiaso who is also a clergyman, said that he hosted the PFN to promote unity and faith in the PFN and to get its support for his aspiration to clinch the presidency of the country when the time comes.
“My word is for them to keep the faith and the unity and also to help reposition Nigeria. That is why I personally have been on this race for the presidency of this country and the vision to making life better.
“In the PFN, we have already started the drive to sensitize our members, educate and mobilize them, to register and get their PVCs and also to go and vote. Be part of the system so that we can do the process together and get the best of results,” he stated.
The PFN, a national inter-denominational Christian group made up of pentecostal churches, has many chapters in Nigeria including the Ughelli North Chapter having as executive committee Rev. Dr. Samuel Ucho, Chairman; Rev. Dr. W. O. Wariri, Vice Chairman; Rev. Dr. Thomas Akatika, Treasurer; Apostle Isaac Oribs, General Secretary; and Rev. Elijah E. A. Obayando, Asst. Gen. Secretary.
