Iwobi in action

By Emuobonuvie Ojeni

Social media went Agog for Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi following his standout performance despite Fulham’s narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Craven Cottage over the weekend.

Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi continued his new found form with a dazzling display despite Fulham lost to Manchester united.

The match was tightly contested, with both sides probing for opportunities.

Fulham were the more proactive team in the first half, largely thanks to Iwobi’s attacking prowess.

The midfielder caused constant problems for United’s backline, unleashing a series of powerful efforts that forced goalkeeper André Onana into making crucial saves.

Despite Iwobi’s best efforts, Fulham were undone by a deflected long-range strike from Lisandro Martínez, which slipped past Bernd Leno to seal the win for the visitors.

Iwobi’s performance drew admiration from fans on the social media platform X, with many praising his energy and creativity. One fan remarked how they wished the Super Eagles could see the same version of Iwobi when he plays for Nigeria.
