Show of force

There was heavy military presence in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas as joint military / police teams were seen patrolling major roads in the local government areas on Thursday 16th March, 2023.
Over 2 dozens of vehicles including motorcycles were used in the patrol.
The purpose of the patrol was not immediately known but it was gathered that it was not unconnected with the forthcoming elections.
However one of the security men, a naval officer who did not want his name mentioned in the media , hurriedly described the exercise as ‘ show of force ‘.
Meanwhile the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State governoship candidate Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and his teaming supporters stormed Igbudu, the biggest market in Delta State for campaign.
The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly was gladly welcomed by the jubilant traders as he disclosed his manifesto.
