The South-South Chapter of Tinubu/Shettima Administration Volunteer Group, TSAVG, has given notice to all All Progressives Congress, APC faithful of an oncoming in-house protest against all leaders among members of the party who deliberately betrayed the party during the last elections.
A statement issued by the group and signed by its national Coordinator, Comrade Felix Akpoyibo today, said the protest is also targeted at other leaders who for their nonchalant attitude, deliberately lost their units to opposition political parties during the Governorship, National Assembly and Presidential elections.
The group said they will be rallying to the national secretariat of the APC to make the demand on the party leadership.
They informed that massive betrayal of the party was observed during the recent general elections and noted the need to sanction the saboteurs.
The statement said although it is the prerogative of the President to approve appointment of anybody he so desires, but the group intends to appeal to President Tinubu to make contact with the relevant party organs to clear prospective appointees to ensure that they were not among the saboteurs, with exception to special interest candidates that could be given waivers.
The protest which has the theme “No Unit Results, No Appointment” is aimed at ensuring that President Bola Tinubu does not give approval for appointment of anybody who did not win his unit during the last general elections.
Scheduled to hold at 10am, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 the venue of protest shall be at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja .
Members of the group from the six states of the South-South are expected to take off from their State capitals viz: Edo State (Benin City), Delta State (Asaba), Bayelsa State (Yenagoa), Rivers State (Port Harcourt), Cross River State (Calabar) and Akwa Ibom State (Uyo).
