Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Sir. Edwin Ogidi Gbegbaje has charged civil servants in Delta State to adher strictly to civil service rules, regulations and ethics and conduct themselves at a level of integrity that depicts fairness, impartiality and neutrality while dealing with members ers of the public.
Sir. Gbegbaje gave the charge during the public lecture, heralding his retirement /Valedictory session at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, at a recent organized by committee of friends, admirers and mentees.
He appreciated all who were present to grace the occasion saying their presence was a mark of honour for his retirement.
“On attainment of 35 years of service to our Dear State, it is with great pleasure, humility and deep sense of appreciation that I Gbegbaje salute you all here present at this public lecture/Valedictory session today, Wednesday 3rd of January to honor me and mark my official retirement.
“I wish to specially thank my boss and superiors in the course of my career as Rookie administrative officer in the then defunct Bendel State Civil service, from 1989-1991; then as a middle management officer in the Delta civil service at state creation in 1991, to year 2010; and subsequently to a top government functionary on my appointment as Permanent Secretary (PS) in 2010, till today, Jan 3rd, 2024, which marks my official retirement on attainment of 35 years of eventful service to our fatherland and humanity.”
He said the catalogue of good will messages poured on him really lifted his soul and used the Occasion to express thanks to former Governor Jales Ibori, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Ifeanyi Okowa and kately, Governor Sherrif Oborevwori who all gave him the needed support to excell and succeed in his career.
