Rotarian Michael Orobosa Enehizena (MNSE) PHF, has been installed as the 37th President of the Rotary Club of Effurun for the Rotary Year 2021-2022.
In his acceptance Speech Rotarian Enehizena outlined the projects to be executed this Consolidator Rotary Year with the theme *’Serve to Change Lives’*
Training of 100 persons in various skills, at the Rotary Club of Effurun, Vacational Training Centre at Ebrumede in two sessions, another Block of Six Toilet and Sewage system in their immediate environment , Provision of Desks, Tables and Chairs to Primary and Secondary School Pupils and Teachers, provision of 40 Delivery Kits to indigent pregnant women, Construction of Water Borehole at Mammy Market, venue where the club carry out it’s Polio plus activities. Construction of Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution Billboard, Planting of Trees for environmental beautication and provision of Interest free Loans to Idigent petty/ small scale business.
Rotarian Enehizena said that all the above proposed projects are in line with the ” 7 Areas of focus, which are for the benefits of Humanity” He said all the projects listed for execution will cost 13•481 Million Naira.
Rotarian Enehizena solicited the support of all and sundry for successful execution of the proposed projects and assured that he is prepare to enter into partnership with any group or individual for the realization of the achievement of the club goals.
Rotarian Fred Ejutemieden immediate past President of the Club said about 8 projects were listed for execution during the 2020-2021 Rotary Transformer year and listed his achievements as the Training of 65 Persons in different Skills at the Club Vocational Training Centre, Ebrumede-Effurun, Construction and Completion of Block of 6 Toilet, with Water Borehole and Electricity at Ughworume Primary School, Ugbomro, Donation of Covid-19 Personal Protective Equipment and Materials to Central Hospital, Warri, Free Medical Health Scheme for Alaka-Effurun residents, Delivery Kits to pregnant Women, Free Textbooks to Our lady’s College and Ekpan Secondary School, Construction of Peace/ Conflict Prevention/Resolution Billboard at Effurun and Peace Walk to Enerhen Junction and Peace Talk with Urhobo College Students.
While thanking members of the club for the support given to him he urged them to extend it to the newly installed President. He added that the club is full of very experienced Rotarians who will always make one to perform as a President.
The Guest Speaker of the occasion Rotarian George Owarieta, an Industrial Relations Professional and a Sociologist who is also the Ogbodu of Agbon Kingdom in his Lecture Titled: Insecurity And The Clamour For Peaceful Co-existence stated that Rotary International is the most formidable service oriented organization in the world with 1• 2 Million members and 35 thousand clubs worldwide cannot afford to stay clear from Political issues even though it is a Non governmental organization despite the fact that the organization has contributed towards the resolution of crisis where about 100 Researchers have been sent and sponsored by the body in various Universities in the world.
He narrowed down the topic to the Nigerian insecurity problem facing the country where, he said there is no more value for human life as a result of the criminal activities of armed groups like Boko Haram, Herdsmen, kidnappers, Bandits, Political thugs among others.
He said the implications of the insecurity has led to growing calls for resources control, True Federalism, Restructing, lack of trust and lost of confidence by the citizens on security agents among others and some of the way forward is that Government should make education vocational, No religion should be promoted by Government against the others, transparency in governance among others.
One of the highlights of the occasion was that, some petty traders and small scale business men and women were given interest free loans.

Awards of Excellence, was also given to some members of the club and those who contributed towards the success of the execution of the 2020-2021 Transformer Rotary Year. Rotarians Michael Enehizena, George Owarieta, Tom Ovwere, Sam Odjoji, Maria Okoh, Amaka Emesue, Gordon Duku, Sweet Okwagbe, Aghogho Fovie amongst others. Other dignitaries awarded for their financial contribution to the club projects were; Hon. Godwin Ebosa, Mr. Godwin Temile, Amb. (Dr) Toyin Agbolayah ( JP) and Mr. Mode Akoma.
