Online Media Practitioners in Edo State have sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Osaigbovo Iguobaro on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to the Oba of Benin, HRM Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare 11.

The Palace of the Oba of Benin recently in a press release signed by the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council (BTC), Frank Irabor, announced the appointment.

In a joint statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Online Journalists umbrella body(Edo-OMP), Otunba Mike Aladenika and Sam Dada Ayokhai respectively, the Online Media Practitioners expressed profound appreciation to the highly esteemed monarch for the appointment which they said is a recognition of Journalists practicing in Edo State, most importantly, the Online Media Practitioners, a body to which the appointee is a member.

The statement also assured the Oba of Benin of necessary media support in reporting the palace events and activities on Social/New Media Platforms.

Edo OMP represents a high standard of online publishing principles that reflect the traditional journalism values which separate cheap blackmail, harassment and false communication.

The body’s mission is to “self regulate” the Online Media Profession to ensure quacks are kept off and also to strictly regulate its practice in line with accepted norms and ethics.
