Delta Political Actualization Network, DPAN, has endorsed the Deputy President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as it’s governorship candidate for 2023 election in Delta State.
In an interview during the occasion of the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the group held today in Ughelli, DPAN Chairman, Evangelist Comrade Ative Rayner Ishaka said the choice of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege by the group was based on the group’s un-shaking belief that the Deputy President of the Senate was the only one, among others, aspiring for the governorship seat who has the capacity to turn Delta State to Dubai, if elected.
DPAN is an independent political support group with 5,000 membership strength spread across Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu, Ethiope East, Isoko North and Isoko South.
The group plans to plant it’s feet in all 25 local government areas of the State before commencement of the 2023 general election.
Comrade Ative said “In 2019 we made five endorsements in the offices of the President, Governor, Senate, House of Reps, House of Assembly, and out of the five we secured four but for legal complexity that gave out the House of Assembly to the opponent.
“Our calculation for 2023 will be shocking, it will not be business as usual.”
He said formation of the group was led by inspired politicians who felt political environment should be more decent and courageous without God fatherism.
Even though independent, the group negotiates value exchange for its support to any politician.
The group within it’s five years of existence has recorded remarkable achievements among others, which were the establishment of a cooperative society that helps to provide grants and funds for its members . The group has perfected plans to embark on a school project which shall take off in the next academic year.
According to the chairman, the secret of the success is hinged on of the transparency of the leadership, entrenchment of high level of discipline, respect for one another and observance of democratic ethos which give room for popular opinion in decision making.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of an award of scholarship up to senior secondary certificate examination level to the child of one of its members, Mr Monday Ivwriavwofe who sadly passed on.
