The chairman of Nigeria Association of Survey Technician Delta State chapter has paid consultative visit to Sapele chapter of NAST in Sapele Local Government of Delta State.
The visitation of the state chairman brought joy to the heart of members of Sapele chapter as well the patrons.
The chairman of NAST,. Sapele chapter , Surveyor Ochuko Abolo, appreciated the state chairman and his team for deeming fit to visit Sapele people.
He appealed to surveyors in Sapele to join hands with the state chairman to build up the survey profession and to eliminate shoddy jobs .
The state chairman, Surveyor Babatude Adegun in his speech, said” I warmly greet the patrons, executive and members of NAST Sapele, Ethiope west chapters.
As a delegate of national association of survey technicians (NAST) come to preside over the affairs of the various chapters, including various ways on how to promote our work, unite members together and promote oneness, love and attention among each members”.
” I am also appealing to all members of NAST through out the country that we should not allow our selves to be slaves on the profession we belong to. Survey technicians are chief executive of survey profession in Nigeria, we must stand right to defend the profession” , he added .
He said that stakeholders in the profession must address the challenge, adding the association would be stronger than its present state , just as he charged members to see themselves as an arm of survey profession and not a labourer.
” We must stop making ourselves labourer to others in the profession in an attempt to look for money” .
The chairman further said enjoined every surveyor in the state to make the profession their priority stressing that surveyors should continue to abide by the Constitution of the association and other relevant code of ethics governing this origination.
Surveyor Adegun , appreciated his predecessor surveyor Andrew Diemijenyo , who is the immediate past state chairman for his love and commitment to the growth of NAST in Delta State and country at large.
The chairman appealed to the association members to always respect registered surveyors , noting that they were one indivisible family.
He warned bad eggs in the profession to desist from poor jobs for the overall good of the state, pledged his continued support for NAST in Sapele and Delta State in general.
Highpoint of the event was the official handover ceremony to the newly elected State chairman.
