*Unveils Council Logo

Over 400 youths and women were on Monday, empowered in Oghara, the administrative Headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Council Area of Delta State, by the Chairman, Hon. Nelson Oghenedoro Owoso.
The empowerment held, to kick – start ‘THE ETHIOPE WEST VISIBLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILL ACQUISITION’ program of Hon. Owoso’s led PDP administration.
Inaugurating the Program he said was dear to his heart; the Chairman asserted that it was aimed at training interested youths in various skills acquisition to make them self employed; and employer of labour.
Areas of specialization incorporated into the Program; includes welding and fabrication, fashion and designing, computer training, and hair dressing respectively.
Also, cash empowerment was given to the women beneficiaries: widows and the physically challenged.
On the occasion, Hon. Owoso unveiled a befitting logo for the Council area after 25 years of its existence; as the ‘ETHIOPE WEST VISIBLE ENVIRONMENTAL TRAFFIC TASKFORCE’ was inaugurated.
The Taskforce which has Austin Ojariafe as Chairman, was inaugurated to monitor indiscriminate dumping of refuse and checkmate road side trading at the various markets in the locality, Hon. Owoso said.
Addressing the gathering of personalities, the event he asserts, was part of his determination to create more jobs for the youths and keep the environment clean.
According to him, the twin events were novel in the history of the Council; stating that over 400 youths and women have benefitted in the inaugural edition of the empowerment Program.
Assuring that more persons would be empowered in the days ahead, the Chairman said events of the day were part fulfilment of his campaign promises; to the people of the Council area.
Earlier, the benefiaries and other participants were educated by experts, on the importance of an entrepreneurship; and the need to utilize the opportunity the occasion has offered.
High point of the event was the unveiling of the newly designed Ethiope West Logo by Chief James Onanefe Ibori; represented by Chief Williams Makinde.
The occasion was graced by dignitaries from far and near: Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM. Monday Ovie Whiskey, Udurhie I, Hon. Ben Roland Igbakpa, member Federal House of Assembly, representatives of traditional rulers, PDP Chairman, Ethiope West Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Obareki, Vice Chairman of the Council; Hon. Austin Atomre; and Hon. Councillors.
