As the 2021annual Christmas Convocation of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) ends on Friday night in the Holy City, Imeko, believers have been exhorted on expectations as Christians.
If Jesus Christ from the beginning of his earthly journey encountered daunting and overwhelming situations, believers therefore, are condemned to suffer the same fate as they cannot be spared.
But in all, Christians must pray and fast to be able to conquer and overcome, it was urged. Quoting the words of the Lord Jesus Christ: “these things can only be accomplished through prayer and fasting.”
Drawing the curtain on activities of events marking this year’s Convocation on Friday night, Pastor/Spiritual Head of the fold World-wide, Rev. Emmanuel Mobino Oshoffa poured the words of exhortation, and prayers upon the Church, and Christians globally.
Let us all pray and fast individually and also join in such activities in our Parishes, he urged.
The Spiritual Father reminded the very humble circumstance of the birth of Jesus Christ, yet, “he rose to become the saviour of mankind, laying down his life for everyone on the cross at Calvary.”
Hence Christmas season is not about the glitz and all it encompasses; but a time for reflection and a time to share the love it brings.
“It is a time for everyone of us to look back and remember the goodness of God in our lives.
“When we look back, we have a reason to smile because the Lord has been good to us.
“He has opened the doors of blessings. Your being alive today is not because you are better than those who have laid down their swords and crossed to the other side of the great divide.
“It is simply because the Lord has been good to you. Take a closer look and indeed, you would see the hand of God everywhere.”
The world; particularly the Celestial Church of Christ has in the passing year had its fair share of difficulties, Pastor Oshoffa noted.
“But this Christmas season reminds us that if God could open a virgin’s womb, He can open doors for us and He will continue to open doors for us.”
In a reflection, Rev. Oshoffa thanked God for opening the door of unity and reconciliation within the Church; stating, one of the metaphors of the Church used by Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 10.
“A body can only function if its members work together as a team. As a team, there will be more burden sharing, transparency and accountability.
“God opened a virgin’s womb at that first Christmas. That God is still alive… that God has not changed” Oshoffa exhorted.
The annual Christmas Convocation of the Church is ordained by God of the Pastor/founder, Saint Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, the ‘Imeko 2021 Planning Committee Chairman, Superior Venerable Most Evangelist (SVME) Adebayo Badekale (Badek) asserted.
Gloriously, it has grown to “become a yearly event for prayers, healings, salvation, musical performances, drama presentation and importantly the gathering of the great people as written by Revelations 7:9 for a common purpose of spiritual rejuvenation.”
