Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Isaiah Bozimo Esq, has appealed to the members of the state House of Assembly Committee On Rules, Business, Legal And Judicial Matters for a cordial working relationship with the Justice Ministry in the state.
Bozimo, who played host to the committee members in his office, commended them for the role they played during his screening in the House and subsequent swearing in as the commissioner in charge of the ministry.
He told them that with the kind of support and cooperation they had already extended to him, the tone had been set for effective collaboration and a cordial working relationship, particularly now that he had assumed office in the Ministry of Justice.
He sought further cooperation from the members during the budgetary period and other important areas of jurisdiction of the ministry to enhance smooth operations.
The commissioner explained that ” other than the budgetary process, we need a close working relationship with you, given the intentions of this ministry to introduce certain legislations affecting the administration of criminal and civil justice.”
He told the members that their intention would be to consult with relevant stakeholders in that regard to facilitate its smooth processes and continually seek their advice until it sailed through.
” Once we are able to introduce that memorandum which we are hopeful His Excellency will pass for legislative action, we will keep members of the committee informed as to how the process is going and at the appropriate time, we will also seek advice from you as to how far we approach certain matters and your support in this legislation to ensure it gets smooth passage in the house,” he stated.
“Mr Chairman sir, we are very grateful to you and your members. No doubt, it is a continued relationship and I am grateful that we have started on this note. God bless you,” he added.
Earlier in his address, the committee chairman, Hon Charles Whomrowho Oniyere Esq, congratulated the Attorney general and Commissioner for Justice on his appointment.
He told Bozimo that they were in his office to familiarise themselves with him and to also assure him of their support to ensure he delivered on his assignment to the state .
The committee members who visited the commissioner included Hon. Charles Whomrowho Oniyere, Chairman; Hon. (Evangelist) Princess Pat Ajudua Esq, Hon. Charles Emetulu, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta and Hon. (sir) Engr. Emmanuel Amatare Sinebe.
