The accident scene
By Kingsley Abavo, Benin
A fatal motor accident occurred on boxing day, at the Ogbemudia Palm plantation farms corridor of the Benin – Ore Highway.
It was a head on collision between two vehicles, which slightly affected about five others.
The accident which a reliable source said occurred at about 12 noon, claimed one life with other victims sustaining various degree of injuries.
It led to vehicular gridlock which was at a standstill for several hours, making travelers to be agitated particularly, those traveling to the Eastern part of the country for the Yuletide season holiday.

The situation however began to abate when officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived at about 15:30p.m to help in the control of vehicular movement.
But notably, travelers have had a hectic time on the Lagos – Ore – Benin Highway as free flow of vehicular movement had been at a snail pace due to gridlock.
