Mr. Pius Labo an aspirant contesting for Bomadi constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly has stated that the constituency seat is not a traditional stool where an occupant could stay beyond necessary.
Labo who is an ex- Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Peace Building and Conflicts Resolution mad stateed this when he paid a consultative visit to People’s Democratic Party ,PDP, delegates at Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Governor Okowa’s ex-aide posited that it was better to quit the stage when ovation was loudest explaining that he believes in vertical progression in politics such that when a politician has occupied a particular office, he should move to a higher level and allow those who have served at the grassroot to move upward.
Labo who was a former Bomadi Local Government Area PDP chairman told the delegates that the eleven communities that make up the Bomadi Council need to have a taste of the Bomadi constituency if the occupant was not self centered. He tasked them to cast their votes wisely to avoid being in bondage for life.
He urged the delegates to change the narrative since the power lies in their hands to choose who flies the party ticket for the Bomadi Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly in 2023.
The ex-aide to Okowa assured the delegates that within six months, if elected , he would set up a constituency liaison office at Bomadi to articulate the needs of the various communities .
He promised a robust, people oriented representation and open door policy ,if given a chance by the people of Bomadi to be their lawmaker in the State House of Assembly.
