Critical stakeholders across board in Bayelsa State have endorsed the Governor Duoye Diri and Lawrence Eghwrudjakpor ticket for a second term tenure, four days before the election.
They said the duo brought massive development to the State in their first tenure just ending and pledged their unalloyed support to vote them enmasse so that they could continue to renew and advance hope of citizens through infrastructure and human capital development of the State.
The endorsement was contained in a consensus declaration by the stakeholders during an engagement with a frontline non governmental organization, NGO, named Grassroots Movement for the Reelection of DIRI/LAW that is mobilizing grassroots support for the ticket.
The Movement has taken the DIRI/LAW campaign to the doorsteps of electorates across the State meeting mammoth crowds of supporters across party lines who expressed optimism for the success of the ticket and raised their voices in loud proclamation of same stressing that it was the only viable and dependable ticket that would bring the dividends of democracy to them and better the lot of the people.
According to them, Bayelsans have never had it so good until the governor, Duoye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Eghwrudjakpor came on board affirming that the duo have proven their mettle and likened their leadership to the Mosaic era that was committed to the liberation of the Israelites from bondage in Egypt.
Aside women groups and leaders of youth organizations, others who spoke include: Hon. Ebi Ben Okolo , Bayelsa East Coordinator and Hon. Abel Ebifemowei, Bayelsa Central Coordinator Of the Grassroot Movement For the Re – Election of Douye Diri ; Hon. Alex Jenakumo, Bayelsa West Coordinator and Hon.. Charity Kens Godwin, Deputy Coordinator of the Grassroot Movement .
Local government, wards and units representatives who were all on ground asserted that the reelection of Douye Diri is an accomplished task
Hon George Turner – Deputy Co-ordinator, Bayelsa East, Hon. Abel Ebifemowei (Osuwo) – Coordinator, Bayelsa Central, Chief Natus Zebakame – Deputy Coordinator, Bayelsa Central and other well respected community leaders added their voice and remarked that Governor Douye Diri first tenure was one good turn that truly deserved another come Saturday 11th November ,2023
