Governor Godwin Obaseki has promised to partner with traditional institutions in Edo State in bringing dividends of democracy to the people, especially in the area of security.
Governor Obaseki made the promise in Auchi, administrative headquarters of Estako West Local Government Area during the 25th ‘Auchi Day’ celebration.
The Governor represented at the occasion by the honourable Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Moses Aigbukor noted, that the traditional rulers are the custodian of their various locality hence government will continue to partner with them to ensure that the people are safe.
Disclosing that the 2022 budget of the State has been signed into law, he assured that in the next couple of weeks the whole State would turn into a construction site; bringing development to the grassroots.
While congratulating the Otaru of Auchi Alhaji H. A. Momoh for the celebration, Obaseki called on other traditional rulers in the State to emulate the annual event of ‘Auchi Day’ in their respective localities; to foster unity among the people.
Making his remarks; HRH Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe 111 pointed out that the essence of the creation of man, is to worship almighty Allah and do righteous things on earth.
“The earth which we lived today was created by God for His servants and slaves to represent Him here, we are all His representatives and His representatives must worship Him and that is the essence of creating us.”
In the entire world of humanity; there is nowhere any day have been set aside for the worship of almighty Allah except Auchi sacred Kingdom, Otaru asserts.
He urged all parents to always pray for their children to be good citizens to them, community and the society at large.
The royal father used the occasion to commend Auchi daughters and sisters in America for their monthly contribution to the well-being of the people at home.
Recognizing particularly, the donation of the state of the art hospital equipment to the Central hospital, in Auchi.
On his part, the guest speaker at the event Prince Sheikh Suleman Imonikhe Momoh, National Commissioner, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria said the word Mosque in Arabic was derived from the root Sajada meaning: to prostrate, which is normally viewed as worship.
Delivering the message titled: ‘The Virtues Of The Mosques, The Correct Etiquettes, And The Virtues Of Those Who Take Care Of Them” the Guest speaker stated that implementation of the shariah is not a matter of choice, but of enforcement of oneself and others.
“The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Him and establish prayers and give zakah and do not fear any other, except Allah.”
He warned hypocrites who took for themselves mosque; using it to cause harm, disbelief, and division among the believers of Allah and His Message to repent or they attract His wrath.
Earlier in his welcome address; Chairman of the occasion, Chief Omamofe Boyo, Deputy Group Chief Executive, Oando Plc, congratulated the Otaru and entire people of the kingdom for the successful hosting of the annual Auchi celebration.
The Chairman also used the opportunity to pray for the unity, progress and development of the community.
High point of the event was Quranic citation, cultural display and presentation of Hillux vehicle to the Auchi Hunter’s association.
The occasion was attended by prominent Edo North traditional rulers.
