The Association of Saw millers in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State has inaugurated their newly elected executive officers to run their affairs for the next four years.
The event which took place at Ufuoma Comfort Club Amukpe, brought joy to the heart of the new Excos and all members of the association as well as invited guests.
The newly elected officials to run the affair of the association for the period of four years were sworn in by Barr.Emakunu Dave and others.
Those sworn in to run the affairs of the union were, Comr Sunday Asini chairman, comr Happy Idolo vice chairman, comr Regina Olise secretary, comr Bright Omorigbe assistant secretary,comr and Mrs Obaze financial secretary.
Others are, comr Mrs Onomude treasurer,comr Felix Okpoko P.R.O, comr Onohwakpor Esther provost, comr Mrs Osumah Bose organizer,comr Eshipi Anna assistant organizer,comr Mrs Inoni advicer and comr D.T.O mother of the house.
In his acceptance speech, the chairman of the association, Comrade Sunday Asini, said”
Firstly, I wish to appreciate God almighty for his Mercy on the life of us this day, indeed Sapele Sawmiller is on a true cause that will take us to enviable destination”.
Comrade Asini said that Sapele Sawmiller was a body fully constituted that has laws binding them, “I will want to bring this to your notice, that the Constitution shall be reviewed especially in the area of tenure of office.” .
He appreciated the pioneer founders of Sawmill business in Sapele including late Pa Okokoro, late Pa Amakeke, late Barr Etuwewe, late Paul Dudu, late Pa Adoye, late Pa Imo, late chief Dan Wood , chief Goeslow Kogoro, Sir Tom Inoni , Mr Wilson Okiki and others.
The chairman also extended his profound gratitude to late Mrs Victoria Ikpera whom he said, brought him into the Sawmillers association just as he described her as a pillar in Sapele Sawmillers as well as Mrs Inoni whom he also noted was working with late Mrs Victoria Ikpera.
He appealed for their support and cooperation, emphasizing that the strength of the association depended largely on their unity.
Lady Inoni appreciated God Almighty for the success of inauguration.
