Security agencies including the Army and Department of State Services, DSS, have pledged to collaborate with the Delta State Police Command in the fight against crime and criminality.
The pledge was given when the new Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi paid a courtesy call on the Commander of 63 Brigade Nigeria Army , Brigadier General Ugochukwu V. Unachukwu yesterday, February 27, 2024 at the Brigade Headquarters in Asaba.
The visit was part of effort by the CP to foster a working relationship between the Command and other security agencies.The CP was warmly received by the Brigade Commander and staff officers of the Brigade.
CP Abaniwonda had stated that it was important to pay the courtesy visit as the Brigade is a very important stakeholder in the fight against crime and criminality in the State and as such it was necessary to solicit support, collaboration, and partnership with the 63 Brigade Nigeria Army.
The Brigade Commander in his response appreciated the CP and his management team for the visit and promised a formidable partnership with the Command because: ” We are partners in progress especially in the fight against crime.”
The CP earlier visited the Delta State Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, Mr. Ademola C. Adebiyi fsi, mni, and sought collaboration in the fight against criminal elements especially in the area of intelligence.
The Commissioner and members of his management were warmly received and the Director promised to synergize with the Command while reiterating that the Police Command has been enjoying a peaceful and robust relationship with DSS in the State and promised to extend the same gesture to the Command under the leadership of the CP Abaniwonda Olufemi.
