The crisis that rocked the boat of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ughelli North LGA penultimate weekend, has been narrowed down to attempt to usurp the authority of the substantive leadership of the party with a view to taking control of the structure of the party ahead of party Congress scheduled to hold in December 2025.
Embattled party chairman of the local government area, Hon Obakpororo Onabedje in an interactive session , disclosed the reason behind his purported suspension and asserted that the action has since been quashed for its illegality and obvious violation of APC Constitution.
The faction of the party that orchestrated his sack had alleged misconduct, administrative lapses and inconsistency with party core values.
Consequently, a replacement in the person of Mr Samuel Evwighono was done.
Swiftly leaders and elders of the party in the LGA met and in response, dismissed the purported suspension, citing illegality and nonconformity with constitutional provisions of the party in respect of removal of officials from office.
They went ahead to sanction the party officials involved in orchestration of the crisis.
