The Chairman of Agbarha Warri Regency Council , High Chief Willie Atebefia Digbori ( JP) has preached peace and unity among indigenes of Warri South Local Government Area.
This was contained in his address during the condolence visit of members of legislative arm of Warri South Local Government Council to the regency council on the transition of HRM London Aforkerhi Itu JP Ememoh 11 the Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom the Regency Hall Igbudu Warri on Tuesday 9th May, 2023.
He noted that the lawmakers who paid the visit comprised indigenes of Warri South Local Government Area.
Digbori then quickly advised that such visits should not be in the time of mourning alone .
He noted that the area is a unique creation of God with the two ethnic groups, emphasizing on the need for peace and unity among indigenes in the interest of meaningful development.
Digbori who is the most senior chief of the kingdom had earlier appreciated the lawmakers for the visit just as he squinted them of the programme on the rites of passage of the revered tradititioal ruler.
The Leader of the Warri South Local Government Council Legislative Arm Rt Hon Syvelster Ijabor who led the delegation had explained that they were at the Agbarha Regency Hall to condole with Agbarha Warri people over the transition of their traditional ruler fondly called Orhifi.
Ijabor who is a native of Agbarha Warri community of Edjeba and chief of the kingdom noted that the councillors were representatives of Warri indigenes and therefore cannot live in isolation without the people of the local government area.
” We share in your grief and pain. ” he added.
Ijabor on behalf of his colleagues pledged to contribute their quota to the rites of passage of the Ovie of Uvwie, Orhifi.
